Volunteers Are Always Welcome!!

As we are 100% Volunteer, the Union Center Fire Company is always looking for new members. Whether you want to be a Firefighter, an EMS member, or Auxiliary member, there is a job for everyone. We have members with a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels. There are many roles inside the Fire Company that help out the community, No previous experience is necessary.  Members have to live within 5 miles of either of our Stations, and have to be a minimum of 16 years old (with Parent consent) to join. 

Our Fire Training is every Tuesday Evening at 6:30 PM, and Saturdays at 10:00am. There are various other days based on scheduling. We take training seriously, and our internal training program is intense, and consists of broad range of topics that are instructed by our own Fire Officers. These individuals are highly trained, and experienced.

Our internal EMS Training is one Thursday a month, and consists of a broad range of topics in the medical field. Members are required to be NYS Certified First Responders (CFR), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), or Paramedics.

There are many positions and many courses that Broome County, New York State, and the Federal Government offer for training. These range from an apparatus operator, hazardous materials technician, interior firefighter, exterior firefighter, emergency medical technician, paramedic, safety officer, vehicle extrication, and more.

If you decide to volunteer, it is at no cost to you. Union Center Fire Company will provide your protective gear, and equipment needed, and the training that you desire. Training possibilities are endless.
